Lea

Hello, nice to meet you. My name's Lea and I found my forever home on June 26, 1993. I was roughly one year old at the time and I guess the family I lived with then didn't want me anymore. It was the month of April but there wasn't anything poetic or romantic about it as far as I was concerned: it kept raining, which is a very bad thing for a stray dog. Finally someone called a volunteer at the local shelter and she came to pick me up. God bless her! I was drenched to the skin and covered with ticks and fleas. To make a long story short, I wasn't in very good shape! After being spayed, I returned to the shelter, waiting for my "happy beginning". And that leads us back to that fateful day, June 26, 1993! Two very kind humans, Carla & Gianluca Nigro, came to the shelter looking for a dog to adopt and they chose ME! That shows what great taste they've always had!… I was born to run (I don't mean "run away", just "run"!) and I bet only a greyhound could beat me (several other breeds tried to, but miserably failed!…). My "parents" say I'm more than a little nutty, but they love me dearly just the same. I must admit I'm rather spoiled: I get lots of hugs and kisses, cookies and treats, and so on and so forth… I guess I'm just a very lucky dog (well, I deserve to be one, don't I?). In 1996 I stopped being an "only child" and was joined by Camilla & Daphne, two other (adorable) rescued mutts. I'm particularly fond of Camilla: we're truly inseparable! The five of us make up a very happy family! I do hope and pray that all the doggies and kitties who are without a home of their own will soon find a loving family, just like mine… Bye for now… Lea

Lea went to the Rainbow Bridge on August 8, 2007, but she lives on in our broken hearts and fondest memories! Our home won't feel the same, without our fearless, vivacious, affectionate furbaby...
